Gratuity is Always Appreciated but Never Required!

While gratuity is not required, it is always nice to tip your specialist. We get questions often about what is customary gratuity for medspa services. There is a lot out there about expected gratuity for eating out, getting your hair done, but how much do you tip for a very expensive service, and how do you determine the tip for extremely discounted services, and how much should members tip. We have a pretty simple answer and guide for that question.

It is customary to tip your esthetician 20%, however we understand that prices fluctuate, and members get such great deals on some otherwise very expensive services. We also discount the Triniti and DOTXide regularly on Groupon and LivingSocial. Remember that your esthetician is a highly trained specialist and is providing a personal service to and for you. It is nice to show them your appreciation, but again it is not required. Our professionals will provide the exact same quality services regardless of gratuity, again, it is always appreciated. Each works hard to provide you with the best results in the most professional and pleasant manner possible.

We suggest between $10 to $25 per service for members. I always recommend that the longer and more specialized the service, the larger the tip. For those purchasing individual services, really the same applies. For Groupon and LivingSocial Clients, we encourage 20%. A Triniti (very popular on Groupon) is actually three services and takes the specialist a long time, however the special price will mean that the gratuity is around $20 for 20%, but with the time it takes and being three services, we suggest more like $45 for gratuity. For the DOTXide, many tip up to $100 since it is such a specialized and technical service. You can either hand your specialist cash, add it to your card, or provide discrete cash in a special envelope at the front desk. We will never hassle you or request it! It is not expected to tip for injections.

We are not suggesting that you have to increase or decrease or change your gratuity practices, however I just wanted to give it a quick blog as I am getting more gratuity questions as business is picking up and people are returning back to the world with full face in view. We always love seeing your beautiful faces in the spa, and if you choose to tip your awesome specialist, I hope this helps.
